unmanned aerial vehicle (uav)
In military parlance, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a pilot less, reusable heavier-than-air craft. UAV’s are commonly used for reconnaissance and intelligence gathering, differing from a "Drone" which is a remote controlled target designed for artillery practice.
