Thanksgiving
Annual holiday celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving is generally celebrated with a large family meal of roast turkey. The celebration has various origins, including traditional harvest celebrations brought by settlers from Europe, celebrations by explorer Martin Frobisher for thanks for surviving the long journey from England to Canada in 1578, and other roots.
